Blimey ! where did that week go ?
I didn't even realize it was Wednesday Oh well !
Second Christmas dinner went well on Sunday we even had snow how lovely that was .....

Not so nice I have a cough and sore throat hence the sugar free Strepsils on my table ..
Also there are stamped out flowers cut and decorated with inks and am trying to pick out some beads .... a tag I am going to try and make a birthday card with ..a seed catalogue as I need to order seeds for the allotment plus my dirty secret my 3DS I have been hooked on Zelda games for yonks!
Oh and My Weight watchers journal because if I don't write down what I eat I haven't had it LOL

WOYWW Just little old me

Having a bit of a tidy up I haven't done much crafting since Christmas apart from a birthday gift to a lovely friend last month which is another of these thermometers which I love doing for some reason !!
Its done using Tim Holtz dies plus distress inks some Inka gold round the edges the 'Have a Beautiful day stamp 'is a paper mania one
Danny is well and truly better after having his Tonsils and adenoids out he is sleeping better too
But Christmas went by in a blurrrrrr with his tantrums of not taking pain medicine or eating .
So on Sunday I am doing another Christmas dinner as My poor sis had to work and she has only just managed to get a decent weekend off when we have .
So eleven for dinner .

Well not much going on here but loads more going on at other crafty folks Blogs so if you wander over to the Stamping ground you will very talented people :0))

Hi Bloggers !
Haven't been up to much these last two week as we have been trying to get stuff prepared for Christmas before my Grandson went in to have his tonsils removed on Tuesday He has suffered really bad with them so they took them and his adenoids out as they were extremely large !
His op went well and he came home yesterday and now we are struggling to get him to eat and drink because of the pain and he is very stubborn for a five year old so we could end up back in hospital for Christmas :0((
There is nothing on my desk but here is my tree and I wish all you WOYWW'S A VERY HAPPY Christmas .

Well thought I would have a go at this as I cannot paint and loved the thought of a hand painted Christmas card .
I must say I was pleasantly surprised how easy it is though I do need a bit of practice with the paint strokes but really enjoyed it.

Morning desk hoppers !
Today I am in the middle of making tags to go on Christmas cards the Idea I am using is from Tammy Tutterow Here
Every week she does a tutorial on Tuesdays you should take a look she is very inspirational !
anyway as I was saying I am making Christmas cards and the tutorial is about de-bossing snowflakes and swiping crackle paint clear rock candy over so it drops into the de-bossed bit when its dry the snowflake is all crystallized its an awesome technique.
the other piccies are of the gifts I made one a cat I knitted for a friends birthday while my ankle was broken and the little pink box is the one that was hidden under the envelope on last weeks desk .
the family picture was a few weeks ago my son Benjamin at his graduation and his lovely Fiance Jenn and my other half its a photo of a photo so not brill and I am not very photogenic at the best of times and the other is a picture of me today .

I have sort of been busy what with Physio and and moving stuff around my home getting a new aerial put up new taps in the bathroom new shower new washing line why does everything always go at once ?
My Work space as you can see is a bit productive today it has a pressie under the envelope for a matey who's having a birthday soon so have hidden it .
well it will be on way to her now as it was wrapped and sent before I wrote this but after I took the picture LOL .
There is a Aldi's leaflet my Grandsons Christmas list well the one his Daddy wrote out anyway Weight watchers bits and some Tim Holtz alterations bits which I am going to be playing with today .
I was in a super market yesterday when a complete stranger a really nice lady came up to me and said my hair looks lovely well how nice was that it really made my day I can tell you !

Christmas Sunday Stampers

Yay! was really happy this morning to see Hels had picked a Christmas theme as I had a quick guess last night and made this tag!
Now I dont usually do tags but thought I might have a go and I am really pleased with it .
The Tag its self is a chip board one (all I had ) inked over with Distress ink Frayed Burlap
There is not as much stamping as I would like but over this I stamped snow flakes with Distress stain picket fence which I need a bit of practice with but it worked I think !
the rest is a Tim Holtz alteration die Festive Greenery and inked up with the new winter distress inks iced spruce, evergreen bough and festive berries.
I love these
I stamped out walking in a winter wonderland and glued it all on the tag then added some ice stickles and some Twinklets diamond dust then I thought it needed some icicles and I saw this die on Scoopy's Blog and asked her what it was and she kindly replied with a Marianne D die ,so had to have one as you do !
well covered that with Diamond dust too and with some binding the lovely Hels sent me in my candy box I colored them with the new inks too and there you have a christmassy tag

Bat out of Hell Sunday Stampers !

Well Halloween is upon us again and Hels has chosen Bat out of hell week!
I don't really have horror type stamps but had this digi skull and a stamp from my new rock star collection plus a cobweb sorry don't know where from plus used Distress stains charms and cork letter tiles with some fools gold scattered around
its supposed to look like a bat coming out of Hell and as I didnt have enough L'S I had to spell Hades instead LOL.

Morning Desk Hoppers
Decided to show you my crutches as I still have to use them for a little while longer until my ankle is stronger .
I have altered them with just alcohol inks and sprayed them with an iridescent gloss varnish Cool hey .
This is as glam as I get LOL .
I am in the middle of having a major session with my Cuttlebug but haven't taken a piccie so I am actually in a mess for a change .

Right this little card I made yesterday using the the Seasonal Series Distress Inks - Fall 2011 plus Tim Holtz Alteration die Autumn gatherings plus a couple of more distress inks to add a yellowish hue I do so love playing with these inks and Autumn is such a lovely color of the year :0)

Finally I can get to my stash and make something as ankle is feeling much better so I have my MOJO back .

Well as I was watching Pirates of the Caribbean last night I thought it was fitting to do something with my Captain Jack digi stamp from The Octopode Factory

As you can see he is on a background of mountboard that had already been pre-stained with the fantastic Tim's distress stains (as I have been messing on board with all sorts of colors )
He has been colored with Pro markers accompanied with stamps Ships log writing and ship is from The Stampman.Ahooy there matey is from Stampendous .Skulls and cross bones from Inkadinkado Rock star.Tree's from Art Impressions. Compas I think is Debbie Moore .
I used T.H disress ink pads plus Momento dye ink an Idealogy game spinner some Grunge board Elements arrow and skull and some beads and eyeletts from my stash .

Wow ! that week went quick .
firstly I would like to say a really big thank you for all your lovely well wishes last week I am sure they perked me up no end .

Secondly I have been a really lucky girl and won two blog candy stashes this week so didn't miss not going to AP now plus won £2.50 on the lottery now that doesn't happen to me much in my life so I really appreciate it :o)

Right now this little project on my table is a small mirror I made for lovely My Sister in law last month when she had a special birthday party ,
She is a very talented lady and had made a quilt for courses she does so I wanted to make something to go with it as I new she was going to keep the quilt for herself .
Having not yet seen the quilt I had to only to go by how she described it before making it
well when I saw the quilt I couldn't have matched it more perfectly .

It is just a plain wooden mirror which I stain with the distress stain Broken China then dabbed Lumiere's on it peacock type colors sorry I forgot which ones and I cant get them down to look at the moment .
Made some grunge paper Flowers with Tim Holtz dies Tattered Florals these were stained and lightly dusted with perfect pearls plus the crown and wings are Tim Hotlz Grunge dot elements they were also covered with broken china an given a light dusting with perfect pearls .

Sunday stamper challenge

Thought I would have a go this is my first attempt at a challenge so have probably got it wrong LOL !!!
Was playing with my new Distress ink stains dragged across board sprayed with water to get the sunset look once dry stamped images using Lavinia stamps Creeper plant and Toadstools and Tim Holtz stamps birds and butterflies .
Then stamped out Octopode images colored them with Promarkers stuck them on the mount board .
I found a stamp in my stash with the saying but it didn't look right just stamped out as it was so printed it out separately to place better .
I always think these Octopodes a little strange hence the wording LOL

Both my Grandson and I are ill both have Tonsillitis plus I have laryngitis and he has ear infection swollen glands and possibly Mumps?????
so we are sick little bunnies both on penicillin and the pain is not nice !
Danny must have picked it up at school being only five and because he has to cuddle his Grandma so much he shared it with me LOL .

A while back Andy Skinner Blogged a Steam punked Calender When I saw it I thought that would be great for Me ol matey Nicks Birthday and as I had a couple of those calender thingys lying about I thought nice one ! I can do my version of one !
However !!!
she beat me to it and sent me one for my birthday first LOL
So !
as she likes to let those Octopodes out too often I have decided to lock them up for a while LOL It is suppose to say on it

Tissue Embossing

Had a go at tissue embossing in this months Craft Stamper 10 tissues cut to size stamped on with some writing then it say apply ink but I sprayed mine with Cosmic shimmer really wet then lay a bit of kitchen roll at the bottom and place in embossing folder,after it has been allowed to dry rub over the raised areas with Inka gold.
Cor I can see me doing a lot of this ,
added some T.H die cuts and a few paper flowers also sprayed with Cosmic shimmer and Bobs your uncle !

We have been to Bakewell for the week,
last time I went it was a very brief visit on way home.
So we went to Darwin Forest stayed in a lovely lodge and done some walking and Cake crawling LOL!
there are More cake shops there than pubs !
And the good news is I only gained 2lbs !
We had a lovely day at Denby and I made a clay frog plus painted a plate which I am waiting to be sent.

This is a card I made for a lovely Norfolk lady called Gwyn last month .
Its made with that new brown card from Papermania the images are Crafty Individuals
coloured with Promarkers and some distress pads and paper from my stash and a little piece of mesh .
She seemed like a beach person and after she sent me a lovely letter saying that she had spent her birthday on Cromer beach with her Grandchildren .

A little thermometer I picked up in the Craft Barn Last November ,Wanted it to have weathery things on it and have been thinking about it for ages .

Then this week Tim Holtz was on QVC with new little stamps and it all just fell into place LOL

It has been inked up with Distress inks the edges have been done with a green coloured inka gold (my favourite medium at the moment ) The Metal sunshine is a Sizzex die the leaf is one of Tims Dies and the snow flakes are Cuttlebugs .

It says Have a beautiful day (paper mania stamps)

and It's the little things that make life big Plus all the other stamped images Tim Holtz.

This is also going to be a Hugbinders raffle prize .

How often do you just stop and think of yourself for a moment ?

many of us don't

Hence the Mirror

Just stop every now and then and give yourself a hug Because more often than not you need it !

I used Acrylics /Inka golds in reds greens coppers and golds /Tim Holtz Distressing inks plus the dies for the flowers leaves and Moths and scrolls /some Beadazzles /fantasy film for the moth wings /wooden letters dipped in the melting pot and stamped into /plus Loads and loads of grunge paper and glossy accents ...

New bathroom new mirror

well here is my mirror.

First I gesso the frame and paint with titanium white acrylic next I pick out the colours from the mosaic tiles and sponge the frame using Lumière's pearl blue mixed with pearl white plus halo gold and then metallic bronze mixed with pearl violet,when dry I coated with matt varnish .

Chipboard letters were then dipped in the melting pot using Utee and flex and assorted embossing powders and then stamped into.I then brushed over them with perfect pearls .

Marine life was made using Fimo and moulds and also brushed with perfect pearls.

When gluing on the letters please make sure the Mirror is up the right way like what I did LOL or you will have to re-string the back.

I really like the finished mirror I hope you do too .

Have had an eventful week My lovely son and his girlfriend have gotten engaged while they are holidaying in Canada so that was lovely .

Plus we are in the middle of decorating the bathroom it all has to be retiled and painted before Friday when they get home and of course we are having a party that weekend too .

I have started to alter the bathroom Mirror it was antique pine but that has totally gone and last night decided to get my melting pot out to do some chipboard letters and the little ******s got stuck to my fingers so I am nursing very sore fingers today and a blister the size of a smartie on my thumb Ouch !!!!

But the mirror is coming along nicely and will be on here soon .

Right back to the bathroom !

I was assured it was delicious though !

Starting to craft again had a little blip with my Thyroid among other things but am starting to rise above it all .

Made this for my Mum for Mothering Sunday we took her to The Isle of Wight 20 months ago and she wasn't her best as she had been over prescribed some drugs so couldn't really remember the trip !

However since giving her this she remembers more and wants to go back LOL

Birthday treat

Have just made this seed box for my lovely brother inlaws 70th birthday today he loves his seeds and particularly unusual vegetable seeds which are enclosed and I forgot to photograph but they consist of seeds like yellow striped aubergines ,yellow mangetout, black radish and strawberry spinach but my favourite were the chilli seeds named chilli willy they grow just like one LOL
Anyway it was a book shaped undecorated box I got from QD for a couple of quid painted it with some mixed mediums and the metal embossed title is a little thing Nicks taught me to do a while back during a visit to her lovely home

I can smell Spring coming

Its starting to spring back to life out you can smell the green stuff there new buds emerging and bulbs starting to peep out snowdrops blooming Oh I do so love this time of the year .

Mum is being sorted out it was a drug issue and not Mini strokes as her GP scared us with we are hoping to see an improvement with her in a month so that was a nice bit of news .

I am ready to do some crafting in my mind again so watch this space .

Not been up to much ,everyone here has had the winter sickness bug and I am absolutely fed up with snow sleet rain and cold !!

And on top of that my Mum has had a turn again and her incompetent doc has said it could be mini strokes she is having and is she at the hospital having tests No
she has to go back in the morning while he reads her notes tonight because the twit cannot use a PC .
I mean he didn't even use pen and paper to take notes .
Next time this happens we are going straight to casualty unfortunately she was at the docs today while she had this episode .
Apart from that we are not going quietly mad and I am giving up red wine for Lent due to a little bit too much at a dinner party a couple of weeks ago LOL.
No crafting not in the mood but am thinking about it !!!

Lack of inspiration !

Not much crafting going on here at the moment I just cannot get into anything .
So I have joined the gym to get my general fitness levels back up again which I let slip after major surgery .

It doesn't take long to become a weakling after lack of exercise and I am definitely weak and need my strength back for my allotment work and to lose some of this dam weight I have regained.

Anyway the gym is great its a local holiday resort for adults only and you get a membership to use the gym ,swimming pool and all the courses plus use the complex as well so its pretty good .
you can get your eyebrows waxed while there too LOL.
Started off well just got to get used to being stiff till it goes No pain no gain as they say .
Think I am now going to have a nice long soak in the new bath ..........

I have no pictures of the lovely winter scenes as I have been in my sick bed with an awful virus but seem to be on the mend now and and my voice is slowly coming back Much to My hubby's annoyance LOL.
Glad to be out of the way as he is putting in a new bath last one was a bad buy if you want to use a shower in it too .

Well here is himself's birthday card for last week
It was stamped on white card coloured with promarkers and used a nestability die for the frame and some card I had stored from way back with some red embellishments that came out of my button stock.

Wanted something in the hall to hang things on and fit the home hub in
Home hub didn't fit but hung it anyway LOL.
Painted it with Brown acrylic paint and lightly brushed a metallic gold Lumiere over it gave it and antique sort of look .
Then stamped over the top with Gold detail embossing powder.

My photography is much to be desired .

Just a little Christmas card and please don't ask me what card /paper as I wouldn't have a clue as I am now starting to delve into stock I have had for years.
But the robin stamp was in a Docraft goody bag and stamped with memento ink pad and coloured with promarkers I have had for four years .

Well I finally finished this Christmas Eve in time to go on my newly decorated dining room wall for the big day .
I bought the frame from QD as I wanted something to display work that had been sent to me instead of shutting it away in an old folder .
It was just painted with acrylics and stamped here and there not a clever choice of stamp round the edges but I like it with a few embellishments stuck on ,the atc's are held on with wooden clothes pegs so if I want to change the Atc's I can ,I really love it and it makes a change from those generic canvass pictures that are on sale every where at the moment .
